Farmersville Elementary School

We believe that students are capable of doing many  extraordinary things.  We trust that the children who enter Farmersville Elementary will join our community with a sense of respect and integrity.  Students should be able to be themselves, work hard and be enriched everyday.  We are so glad to have your child here with us at Farmersville Elementary and we hope to see you involved in our community, as well.

Our  Farmersville Tigers are the most important part of our Community!

A Hello from Ms. Hilton:
Welcome back, Farmersville families! I read an analogy comparing the months of summer to a weekend. June is like a Friday, July a Saturday, and August the longest Sunday imaginable! I don’t know how you feel but I think we completely skipped Saturday! This summer went far too quickly for me but I can’t say I didn’t make the most of it. I was able to get some quality family time down in North Carolina, visiting my parents and one of my ninety-eight year old grandmothers. I also escaped to Cape Cod where I’ve been visiting since I was a child. There’s nothing like having that go-to place where time seems to stop and there’s nothing to worry about except getting to the beach, what book to read, and what you’re having for dinner. I hope you all found that escape and family time as well.
We’re getting ready to hit the ground running on August 25th! The teachers have been buzzing around the building for the last several weeks. The loss of two sections, one in third and one in second, resulted in some staffing changes at The Farm. Mrs. Eilers is now at Governor Wolf Elementary School and Mrs. Packo has returned to sixth grade over at Broughal Middle School. Mrs. Seidenberger is now teaching fourth grade and Mrs. Lausch has moved up to fifth. Dr. Lawrence, our School Psychologist, has resigned from the BASD to take advantage of an opportunity in the private sector. We are also sorry to see Mrs. Brad, a Learning Support teacher transfer to Donegan. Mrs. Flores returns to teach a morning kindergarten section and Mrs. Christiansen will now teach the additional afternoon kindergarten section that was added just last week. We also welcome Ms. Kirias who will be joining our Learning Support team in mid-September. We will everyone the very best in their new positions.
The school itself is in tip-top shape as we prepare to open our doors to the students. The custodial crew has done a stellar job of restoring the shine to our beautiful building and maintaining a clean, healthy environment. The unseasonably cool, dry summer helped on that front as well.
The school year will start off with some ROARRRINNNGGGG Tiger fun as we hold a school-wide naming contest for our new Tiger mascot! I hope to have him/her named in time for our annual Tiger Trek fundraiser on October 8th! Be sure to look for more information on Tiger Trek coming home with your child the first weeks of school. We’re looking to increase student participation and need your help in this endeavor. Stay tuned! Also, be sure to look for ways to get involved in our wonderful PTA. They have a positive impact on our school and could always use volunteers for the various events they sponsor throughout the year.
I am excited to begin my second year as Principal of Farmersville Elementary School. Please remember that your support is greatly appreciated by our entire faculty. Communication is the key to success and I encourage you to be involved in your child’s education by partnering with your child’s teachers and reinforcing their efforts. Your children are in good hands here.
I look forward to seeing you all on September 3rd for Ice Cream Night at The Cup and then our Open House on September 18th at 6:30 PM.
Ms. Hilton
